“People with goals succeed because they know where they’re going.” -Earl Nightingale

What’s the daily dose of positive things you can do for yourself? Do you have a daily list of things you need to get done for others, but forget what’s necessary for yourself?

Everyday is an opportunity to become better than yesterday.

The only way to make today better than yesterday is knowing where you are now and where you want to go.

You can waste a lot of time looking back at the past and being stuck there, or you can look back, know that you’re not there anymore, and create a plan for today to be a better you.

Your daily dose of getting better can be as simple as creating a list of six healthy activities you can do to improve yourself. Pick the activities that impact your quality of life the most.

Why six? Why not ten or twenty? There’s something powerful about having less on your plate. The more you do, the more opportunity there is to spread yourself too thin and not complete the task at all, or complete it half heartedly.

Find six healthy activities for the day, write them down on a piece of paper, and prioritize them for most important to least. Here’s a list of healthy daily habits that can inspire you to choose your top six:

1. Drink Water
2. Floss and brush your teeth
3. Exercise or move
4. Eat Breakfast
5. Supplements & Vitamins
6. Snack Smart
7. Eat Lunch
8. Visit Your Chiropractor
9. Meditate
10. Eat Dinner
11. Read, journal
12. Sleep at least 7 hours

Simple, right? But, what’s easy to do is also easy not to do. For example, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” is probably the most common advice to staying healthy. It’s not the apple part that you need to focus on, but rather, the bigger picture of that advice: eating whole foods consistently. Sounds easy at first, but then when you think about how many food options you have each day, choosing the whole food option can be a challenge.

Upgrade your healthy habits by choosing six activities that will do your body well. Check them off at the end of the day and hit repeat the following morning. Consistently complete this day after day and, over time, you can experience the benefits of taking caring of yourself so you can be a better you!
