“There are things that we can do to preserve or maintain our health and help to restore our health when we have lost it. Unfortunately, confusion arises when we think that the absence of symptoms means that we are healthy.” —Joseph Strauss, DC

Life is energy, and energy is never stagnant — it’s in constant flux and movement.

The energy source to your well-being is how chiropractic can promote whole body benefits. Focusing on the principle that your body generates and coordinates well-being through energy is a step in the direction of living life at a higher quality.

With the brain being the source of your life energy, it sends energy down the spinal cord and then out to your entire body through the nerves. This cycle then repeats back from the body through the nerves up the spinal cord and into the brain. This cyclical flow of energy from brain to body and body back to brain through your neurological system is how your trillions of cells work together physiologically.

When any of the 24 vertebrae subluxate out of proper position and irritate rather than protect the nerves, interference in the transmission of neurological life sustaining energy or impulses can occur between your brain and body. This is what chiropractors term vertebral subluxation.

Chiropractic adjustments open up the circuit between the brain and body by creating less interference in the neurological system, allowing normal function to occur throughout the entire body due to adequate nerve supply.

We have two choices when it comes to utilizing Chiropractic Adjustments.

The first option on benefiting from Chiropractic Adjustments is focusing on utilizing the positive influence Chiropractic Adjustments has on well-being so your self-healing characteristics can overcome a specific health conditions or symptoms.

In general, this approach is common within Chiropractic because when the focus is on correcting vertebral subluxation, the positive influence on your whole well-being can be attained and health conditions and symptoms often are replaced with function and well-being.

This approach is comes with warning though, your quality of life is more than presence or absence of symptoms or disease.

The second option on benefiting from Chiropractic Adjustments is focusing on utilizing the positive influence Chiropractic Adjustments has on well-being so your self-healing characteristics can adapt to stress and stay well. It is what we term regular chiropractic care. Regular Chiropractic Care is a proactive approach to evaluating the state of condition of your spine regardless of how you feel.

Often times, how you feel just doesn’t correlate to how well your physiology is functioning.

Regular Chiropractic Care is about consistency and consistency is a key to success in more programs, training or practice towards mastery.

Focusing in on consistent Chiropractic Adjustments with respect to the ups and downs to how the body is expressing states of feeling allows the inner recuperative power of the body to consistently generate and coordinate a higher state of well-being. Consistent states of more well-being allows for greater ways to adapt to stress which in turn allows your well-being to not be drained or lost due to the demands of the day to day stress.

In general, our results in life are dependent upon where our focus is and our quality of life is no different. If your quality of life is not where you want it to be, try monitoring where your focus is.

When you take control of your focus, you take control of your life! Associating positive rewards and negative consequences to your focus can push and pull you in the direction of where you want your quality of life to be.

Lasting change is the name of the game. If you choose to focus on small, consistent, positive behavior changes for your quality of life such as regular chiropractic care, chances are you’ll see the results accumulating overtime until the tipping point is in your favor.

Don’t beat yourself up or quit if you slip back to the old patterns or behavior — everyone has the capacity to slip into poor decision mode. Life is demanding, and with all the stress that’s laid upon us, we have so many choices to try to make life a little less stressful.

When you slip into choosing immediate returns with negative rewards, just check yourself and get back on track. Slipping and checking is vital for your focus.

When you get back on track, consider finding someone to hold you accountable to the goal you have set for your quality of life so you can stay consistent in your behavioral changes to cultivate a lasting change!
