“The Amount of Force Created by Intelligence is Always 100%.” —R.W. Stephenson

Today, we’re going to grow in our understanding on Principle 9 of the Chiropractic 33 Principles. Principle No. 9 “The Amount of Force Created by Intelligence.”

Here’s a recap of the Chiropractic Principles we’ve covered so far:

No. 1. “The Major Premise” – A Universal Intelligence is in all matter and continually gives to it all its properties and actions, thus maintaining it in existence.

No. 2. “The Chiropractic Meaning of Life”- The expression of intelligence through matter is the Chiropractic meaning of life.

No. 3. “The Union of Intelligence and Matter” Life is necessarily the union of intelligence and matter.

No. 4. “The Triune of Life”- Life is a triunity having three necessary united factors, namely, Intelligence, Force and Matter.

No. 5. “The Perfection of the Triune”- In order to have 100% Life, there must be 100% Intelligence, 100% Force, 100% Matter.

No. 6. “The Principle of Time”- There is no process that does not require time.

No. 7. “The Amount of Intelligence in Matter” – The amount of intelligence for any given amount of matter is 100%, and is always proportional to its requirements.

No. 8. “The Function of Intelligence” – The function of intelligence is to create force.

Lets discuss No. 9 in detail as we look at how a state of complete force in our body is utilized to create a state of coordination for our physiology and well-being.

The amount of force created by innate intelligence is always 100%.

What does that mean to the Student of Chiropractic?

Well, Joe Strauss states in his Chiropractic Philosophy Blue Book, “We have previously dealt with the fact that intelligence is always perfect. From birth to death the innate intelligence of the body is always 100%. The force created by that intelligence is also 100%. That which is perfect is incapable of creating anything less than perfect. The expression of that intelligence through matter is the chiropractic definition of life. The force is the link between the two.”

The definition of perfect is having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be-it’s a state of completeness.

Let’s look at our state of well-being through the lens of completeness or wholeness and the process of restoration which is what the Chiropractic Adjustment aims to achieve.

There is a constant warfare like battle that takes place with our body and the environment we live in on a daily basis. We don’t give enough credit for restoration from the day to day demands. Most if not all of the time, injury and trauma to our body and the tissue that keeps us together goes unnoticed. This day to day battle can be visualized as invasive forces vs. resistive forces.

The invasive forces would be anything on the outside trying to get in and attack our coordinated state of well-being or anything breaking down on the inside of us.

The resistive forces are our body’s defense mechanisms against stress, the restorative forces that the inner recuperative power produces.

Stressors can produce certain negative physiological responses within your body depending upon what type of stress you encounter and can take a toll on the body’s normal state of function regardless of feeling pain or discomfort. For example:

  • Physical stressors like sustained or repeated activities or bad posture can negatively affect cellular and tissue formation
  • Chemical stressors like tobacco, alcohol or drugs can negatively affect bio-mechanical processes
  • Mental stressors like social or family demands can negatively affect overall mental function and performance.

Lets remind ourselves that within our physiology is an inner recuperative power to self-heal, self-coordinate and self-function. This inner potential or power has more knowing and completeness to the well-being equation than we give credit for. This inner recuperative power has the potential to restore injured tissue to a complete state or wholeness again.

When you cut your finger, put a bandage on and in no time the cut is healed up and replaced with normal skin as long as the body is not suffering from a state of in-coordination; to the degree or the extent of injury and tissue damage.

This process of restoring injured tissue to healthy tissue every time you cut your finger demonstrates your self-healing, self-coordinating and self-functioning ability to turn that dysfunctional state in your body turns back into normal complete tissue.

That restoration to completeness is within every cell in your body and the process from injury to wholeness requires intelligence, force/energy and the matter of the tissue that is injured and needs restoration!

Restoration to injured cells or tissues due to physical, chemical or emotional stress placed on our physiology happens from within. Within meaning if you cut your finger, the band aid or ointment you put on the cut does not restore the injured tissue to completeness. The inner recuperative power or inner wisdom or innate intelligence within the body restores the injury.

Restoration requires a combination of simultaneously working cells, tissues and organs coordinated through the neurological system. This coordination through the neurological system within our body is more powerful than any computer out there! With an estimated 100 billion nerve cells within your body, that makes more neurological connections between cells and tissues in your body than stars in the galaxy. You have a galaxy of restoration taking place within you 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Millions of bits of information or restoration being processed through the neurological system for a state of coordination.

Restoration within your physiology is the expression of an inner intelligence via forces or energy through matter/tissue.

In order for your body to function at its highest potential there must be one-hundred percent intelligence, one-hundred percent energy and one-hundred percent matter.

The intelligence in our body is always one-hundred percent because it’s a principle or law similar to the law of gravity.

The force generated within the body is always one-hundred percent, due to the source of it coming from the inner recuperative intelligence is 100% complete or perfect.

The matter and the connection between the intelligence and matter are a weak link in the equation and Chiropractic has a focus on where there is interference to the neurological communication within the spine due to stress.

So if physical, chemical or emotional stress are affecting your quality of life or well-being, Chiropractic views the body lacking wholeness or completeness if adaptation to those stressors are not efficient.

Chiropractic Adjustments are focused on co-creating a higher state of well-being or quality of function at the neurological level by locating levels of physical interference to the neurological communication that connects your body’s innate intelligence with the tissue throughout the body.

The neurological communication needs to be free of physical interference within the spinal region in order for tissue coordination and restoration to occur at 100%.

I would like to open your mind to the idea that the expression of the inherent recuperative power within every living body as a vital component to optimal function and well-being. We can’t just look at the outer layers of physiology and disregard the inner non-form aspects that play a part of self-healing, self-coordination and self-function.

Our body has an inherent recuperative power that is always 100%. The restorative forces created are also 100%. Locating, analyzing and facilitating the correction of physical interference on the expression of the inherent restorative forces through neurological tissue is how Chiropractic can influence a higher quality of life via the adjustment.
