The Chiropractic 33 Principles are the building blocks to the philosophy, science and art of Chiropractic.

The first principle of the 33 Chiropractic Principles “The Major Premise” – A Universal Intelligence is in all matter and continually gives to it all its properties and actions, thus maintaining it in existence. The second principle “The expression of intelligence through matter is the Chiropractic meaning of life.”

The third principle is “The Union of Intelligence and Matter” — Life is necessarily the union of intelligence and matter.

Chiropractors study human physiology or quality of life through the lens of neurology. When viewing quality of life through the neurological lens, you will see that the brain coordinates function throughout the body via nerve impulses or force giving a union between intelligence and matter to the human body as a whole.

Without the neurological system functioning properly in your body, you literally have a body with less complete union. The brain is the the first organ to develop in utero and is the last organ working to distinguish death.  Without your brain or neurological system in union with your tissues or organs, your body will not stay alive very long without the aid of medical equipment or treatment.

Our bodies require the neurological system in order to express life. This union of life in the human body is the Third Chiropractic Principle that R.W. Stephenson states as life is necessarily the union of intelligence and matter.

So if life necessitates the union of intelligence and matter, what unites it?

The union of intelligence and matter is the Chiropractic Pinnacle. The Chiropractic Pinnacle is force. Force as is in the energy that influences change or motion on matter. The quality of life within our body has an innate intelligence guiding the expression of function through matter and in order to be expressed, a union of between the intelligence and the matter is necessary and that union is force, or energy.

Wellbeing or our quality of life can be defined within the context of Chiropractic as the expression of function by the union of intelligence and matter through innate forces. These innate forces are the bond that unite intelligence and mater. The innate forces are located wherever there are atoms, no matter can exist without the intelligence and force connecting the triune of life together; but one part of the body is responsible for producing or creating force.

Reggie Gold, chiropractor and philosopher would always say that the body shows intelligence in all the functions of the organs. For example, the heart is an intelligent pump with the ability to pump 6,000-7,500 liters of blood daily. The neurological system has the innate characteristics of being able to create innate forces and send those innate forces throughout the body via nerves.

These innate forces or mental impulses help the innate intelligence within our body coordinate the trillions of cells into a state of active organization or otherwise known as adaptation.

This is why chiropractors are passionate and focused on the body’s ability to express proper function through the brain-body neuro-connection without interference at the spinal cord level by proper alignment in the vertebrae that protect and direct the neurological system.

The neurological system is a highway of innate forces uniting intelligence and matter for the proper expression of function. The vertebrae that protect those nerves are responsible for more than just a lack of pain within the spinal anatomy. They’re responsible for protecting and directing neurological function which coordinates whole body physiology or union of intelligence and matter.
