“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” —John Kennedy
It is estimated that the human body contains over seventy trillion cells! Each cell represents an economic unit of life and vitality for the body. These cells produce the necessary elements and chemicals to maintain growth and function so that the body can live.
One interesting fact about these cells is something called apoptosis.
Cellular apoptosis is the cell’s innately programed way of growing or dying. It serves as a proactive measure to keep healthy cells for the body and get rid of the negative, weak or dying cells to protect the body. When a cell enters apoptosis, they will activate a cellular destruction cycle so the body no longer has to provide resources for the weak or dying cell.
What can cause cells to go into cellular destruction?
In short, change. Change is a law of life. When change outweighs the body and its cells ability to adapt to it, it’s in the overall best interest to create less cells that need resources. Change can also be viewed as daily stress or demands. The day to day struggle of existence can wear out your body and create cellular apoptosis. Apoptosis is a controlled form of destruction, the body’s innate intelligence is deciding to die in order to grow stronger as a whole.
What can we learn from apoptosis?
There is so much wisdom within the human body that we can learn from, and apoptosis is one unique way the body embraces change.
Embracing change is when you realize that change is going to occur. You either learn how to benefit from the current circumstances, or you don’t change and you let change, change you. When demands are high, learn how to become a stronger person so you can better adapt. Changing who you are in order to embrace the law of life is a form of proactive choices and decisions that lead to creating outcomes rather than responding to outcomes.
If you want different results, become a different person. Results are directly correlated to how you embrace change. Jack Canfield, author and coach, teaches the equation: E + R = O. Event plus Response equals Outcome. Outcomes or results are directly affected by your response to the events around you. You can’t control every event or change in your life, only your response to them.
Embrace change by using it to become stronger and help move you towards success.
